From the Martini Hotel you can walk in 10 minutes to the Groninger Museum. The Groninger Museum is one of the top attractions in the northern part of the Netherlands. With four diverse collections – archeology and history of Groningen, applied art, old statues and modern art – the Museum offers a wide choice for their visitors. The building itself is one of the main attractions within the postmodern art. For the design the main architect, Alessandro Medini, worked together with a.o. Michele de Lucchi, Philippe Starck & Coop Himmelb(l)au.
The building was ready in 1994 and official opened by former queen Beatrix.
The Groninger Museum offers set collections as well as changing expositions (such as the David Bowie collection).
