Groningen may be the youngest city of the Netherlands, she has a long, tumultuous history and that can be seen in the numerous historical warehouses, buildings and courtyards. However, Groningen is also a modern city with a lot of innovative architecture. And last but not least it is also a lively student city, which results in an always buzzing city.
We certainly recommend a day of shopping in the city, as Groningen offers a wide choice of shops. And in between settle on one of the nice terraces or in one of the cosy cafés.
