De Oosterpoort and De Stadsschouwburg Groningen are both within walking distance of the Martini Hotel.
De Oosterpoort has two concert halls; the big hall (partially with amphitheater) has 1150 seats, the small hall offers space for 250 persons. More than 300 concerts are given annually at De Oosterpoort, with a lot of international artists.
De Stadsschouwburg Groningen (city theater) is the most important theater of the province of Groningen. The beautiful building dates from 1883 and is a national monument since 1994. Since the early years, Groningen has wanted to present the best artists to the public and still today De Stadsschouwburg is ambitious in that area.
